The 9th Congress of the Balkan Stomatological Society will be held in the Metropol Hotel, May 13-16, 2004. The hotel is located on the lake coast, on 7 km distance from the center of the town of Ohrid and offers vast varieties of congress facilities.

The official language of the congress is English. Simultaneous translation will be available during the sessions.

   

The town of Ohrid is a living museum, housing unique monuments, which testify for its cultural, spiritual, educational significance from the Neolithic, Roman, Hellenic, Byzantine, Medieval and Ottoman period. There are many sites of interest among which the most eye-catching are the Fortress of emperor Samuel (10 th century), the antic theatre, the gallery of Icons, the early Christian Episcopal churches (St. Sofia from 11 th century, the restored early Christian basilica from the 5 th century St. Pantelejmon at Plaoshnik, The Church of St. John of Kaneo from the 13 th century, the monasteries of St. Clement and St. Naum, the two scholars who spread Christianity and Slavic literacy among the southern Slavs and further all the way to Russia.

We will do our best, by organizing daily tours, to bring the historical and natural beauties of Ohrid at your fingertips.
