The town of Ohrid is a living museum, housing
unique monuments, which testify for its cultural,
spiritual, educational significance from the Neolithic,
Roman, Hellenic, Byzantine, Medieval and Ottoman
period. There are many sites of interest among
which the most eye-catching are the Fortress of
emperor Samuel (10 th century), the antic theatre,
the gallery of Icons, the early Christian Episcopal
churches (St. Sofia from 11 th century, the restored
early Christian basilica from the 5 th century
St. Pantelejmon at Plaoshnik, The Church of St.
John of Kaneo from the 13 th century, the monasteries
of St. Clement and St. Naum, the two scholars who
spread Christianity and Slavic literacy among the
southern Slavs and further all the way to Russia.

to bring the historical and natural beauties of
Ohrid at your fingertips.
